  • After the rain, the sky starts turning yellow., that’s code for: Let’s go take some photos! :D
    We can see that it was raining at sea here.
    This one looks like it had an exposure of 10 minutes but it was only 30 seconds :)
    This one’s my favorite, the sky was so red, it was amazing!
    A big wave thought it would be funny to crawl my way, move the tripod and run away while my camera was working, that’s why the photo is half blurred lol! Unfortunately it was getting dark really fast and i didn’t have enough time to take another photo!

  • And we’re having rainy days here again! Oh how i missed the rain, trying to go out to do a bunch of things but not being able to! But this time it wasn’t so bad! 😀 After going to the window a thousand times to see if it stopped raining, i looked to the sky and noticed that something was going on, it was turning yellow. 😮 I thought ” wait a minute, the sky isn’t yellow… or is it?? hmmm looks like olive oil… i’m hungry.”. a few minutes later i realized the sun was setting so I ran as fast as I could to my computer to free some space in my SD card! After that i walked calmly to the car and drove all the way to the shore to take a few photos! 😀 I was running out of time and my camera was set on irritating me, always defocusing when i pressed the shutter and taking pictures all by itself! Not only that, the sea was splashing everywhere and even moved my tripod once a few millimeters to fix the composition, unfortunately it was in the middle of a photo so… thanks a lot wave, really helpful!

    3. Amazing and beautiful photos. The weather is so interesting for photos. The colours are so fantastic. Each photo tells a story. Your so amazingly talented and it allows you to share your beautiful country. I am so honoured to have you as a friend.

          • I just did, very nicely written! 😀 I see that you like Fado, that’s good! I’m not a fan myself, but i think it’s great when non-portuguese people enjoy it! It means a lot to us, i can tell you that! And yes you are right about the drivers here, we’re very nervous drivers and don’t tolerate mistakes! But that’s because most of the people who drive here don’t care about the other drivers. And yes people get really close to one another, especially on the highways… personally i don’t do that, but i see it happening pretty much every day.
            You went to see the caves in São Vicente, i live 10 minutes away from those caves, my mom used to play there when she was young, before they built the “cave business” there hehe 🙂

    7. I don’t know what camera you are using but, if you can, try back button focussing. It allows one to lock in the focus. I use it all the time now and shoot in manual and non-auto ISO. Takes a day or so to get used to focussing with the back button focus. When I shoot birds in bushes I need to focus on a paticular spot that I choose. It is a bit retro, like manual focussing, but faster. Beautiful work Diogo.

      • Yes i do that already. Especially with the 50mm, it’s a great way to create creative bokeh. But it’s kind of hard to focus when the viewfinder is black and there’s nothing to focus on lol I had to remove the filters, focus, and then put the filters back on. Sometimes i’d forget to put the focus in manual so the camera would focus for a millisecond when i pressed the shutter, and the photo would be out of focus. Lol
        I’m using a Canon 500D, on full manual mode. And i shoot in Raw 🙂 Thank you! 😀

    9. Very attractive series..I cannot say I like one better than another…I like them all..the colourpalette, the shutterspeed used, the subject , the viewpoint…the composition..all so good.

        Muito obrigado Inês! 😀 Oh tens que experimentar, se não tens filtro a melhor altura é mesmo ao por do sol! Mas aconselho a comprar um filtro proprio para longas exposiçoes porque capta melhor as cores 🙂 Dá é mais trabalho, eu para focar as fotos tenho que tirar o filtro todas as vezes que mudo de lugar, focar, e voltar a enroscar o filtro! Mas pronto, até vale a pena e é bastante giro e relaxante! 🙂 Recomendo! 😀
