Bad news! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ My Sigma 70-300mm is busted. The diaphragm is stuck on f/32 and the lens focuses back and forth all the time. Dammit! This has been happening since Christmas but i always managed to fix it using the DOF preview button. Now even pressing it a 1000 times won’t do anything. The only way to fix it is to perform open surgery on it and from what I’ve read online, the lens mysteriously turns into a paper weight after that. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    Such flapdoodle. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

    1. Sounds like your lens wasn’t new. taht sucks. I bought my Nikon 80-400 mm. I sent it in to be fixed for the second time a week ago. Comes with a 5 year warrenty. I was on a trip upstate and had to use my short lens.

      • Mine was and still is new lol doesn’t have a scratch on it, i barely use it! From what i read online, the oil in the mechanism must have dried out and that’s why the blades are sticking. i bought it 4 years ago so it makes sense. It was dirt cheap so i’m not surprised at all. I was thinking about buying a new better one but i haven’t got the cash so I’m going to open it up and fix it this weekend, might make a post about it. ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. Throw that piece of shit in the ocean and let the fishes take care of it! ๐Ÿ˜› That really sucks though matey! How long have you had this lens? Don’t you have a warranty on it still? My Sigma lens was problematic from the start, send it to service 2 times…they replaced it both times…and now even if i turn off Image Stabilization, the elements inside move and when i have the camera on a tripod it really messes up my shots! No Sigma for me, ever again -.-

      • It was the first lens i bought so it has 3 or 4 years! ๐Ÿ˜€ I didn’t use it much and from what i read online, the oil inside the mechanism must have dried out! Apparently this happens with cheap lens >_> i would throw it away but i have no money to buy a new one! ๐Ÿ˜€ “Have at ye ocean, take this miserable bilge rat of a lens and keep it!!! Wait wait i need it, give it back nooooooooooooooooooo!!! XD” Which Sigma lens do you have matey?? :O
