I was going to call this one “Watching the sunset with a giant rock octopus and two weird looking rainbows” but Rainbow Sunset sums the photo well too i think, even if it doesn’t make much sense lol
This photo was very hard to edit! While i was there, i could see the rainbows clearly, but the camera had a really hard time picking them up! I could distinguish most of the colors but, apparently, my 500D thought the rainbows were some kind of rockets blasting their way to outer space.
Anyway, hope you enjoy it!

Yea…I know it is difficult to shoot, my camera gets a bit confused too when this sort of thing happens. Wonderful spot for it with the two rocks in the fg. and added reflections too. xx

Yes it happens quite often, i’m not sure if fancier cameras have this problem as well!
I’m glad you like it Paula, thanks!

Try to use a polarizer filter next time. It should bring out the rainbow colors.

I did use a polarizer, but i turned it “off” because it erases the rainbow when active 🙂 My lenses have a permanent polarizer attached to them, even if i dont use it haha 😀

A quote from this link: http://improvephotography.com/333/tips-photography-circular-polarizer/
“Polarizer Tip #2: One lesser-known tip for using polarizers is they are fantastic for shooting rainbows. Most people say not to use a polarizer for rainbows because it will make the rainbow disappear. After all, rainbows are caused by glare when the sun’s rays hit a pocket of moisture. Don’t listen to the people who teach this, because they don’t understand that if the polarizer is spun the opposite direction, it can actually INCREASE the amount of glare in a scene more than the natural eye sees. This makes the rainbow even more clear and colorful.”
